Episode 049: Body shame is no way to get to your own gay fame! – Jesse Brune-Horan

Shame. Fat, thin. Tall, short. Rich, poor. Every person on the planet in some way has experienced SHAME!

Then there’s that wonderful thing that we live in…our body! Shall we get the shame talk going about that one?
Never thin enough. Skin’s to white, skin’s to dark. Smiles to crooked. Teeth aren’t white enough. Pec’s aren’t pumped enough. And we haven’t even scratched the surface. SHAME, SHAME, SHAME

Now enter stage right – BODY SHAME – a permanent resident in the LGBT community. Used to be thought of as only a WOMAN’S SHAME! Oh NO, NO, NO! Prevalent in the gay community – especially in gay males – we’ve found the ultimate put down to make ourselves feel unworthy even without anyone else opening their mouth!

All that’s about to change. It’s time for us all to realize that SHAME and BODY SHAME are a shared human experience and it’s time to kick it out of our life.

Today on The Coming Out Lounge we welcome Jesse Brune. Jesse is a gay man, celebrity chef, personal trainer and lifestyle coach. He is best known for his roles on the reality television series Work Out on Bravo, Private Chefs of Beverly Hills on the Food Network, and Home Made Simple on the Oprah Winfrey Network (OWN). He is the co-founder and executive director of Inspire Spiritual Community.

Through is work, Jesse’s realized it’s time to reintroduce a higher power into our gay community, master forgiveness, heal our own homophobia, fear and shame, and be at peace coming out as our own spiritual person.

Get ready, this is about to be an Oprah experience…at least that’s what I hope to deliver to you!
